Heck, with this system, if I spot a far away enemy, I can immediately use a powerful slow casting spell if the enemy is close by, I use a fast casting spell and if they're on top of me, I wack them with my staff or use a melee spell. Now, I'm not saying this system is perfect (especially when developers exaggerate and force us to use even the default attack like this, or give us 5+ bars to fill do keyboards even have enough keys for so many!?) but it sure beats just having one mouse button. What.? Are you serious!? Have you checked out any Online RPGs in the recent years? They all work like this: you got an action bar and press the appropriate key to use the desired skill or item. Its really unplayable for me as a spell caster the way it is now because I dont have 3 hands. Its much more intuitive that way and should make the controls easier for everyone. You change spells/weapons using the hotkeys but you cast them using your left mouse button, just like the original game. Then, you simply select a number, which locks that spell or weapon to your mouse attack button and click away. Set your hand held weapon as the ~ key, and spells as number keys.

With your UI this should be very simple to do. You need to have it set up like the original game, where you select a spell and then you cast it using your mouse button. I have one hand for the mouse, one hand for the arrow keys, and I need a third hand to cast spells as a spell caster.

Hard to believe the UI is set up this way when the disk version had it perfect. And even if I was, Its still not intuitive. So now I have this and I have a problem regarding the use of spells combined with controls.
